Driver Software
Do i need to install any software or driver on my computer to install extra CD-Rom drive inside the computer?

I already have an internal DVD-RW Drive and i was wondering if i would need to install any driver or software to put in a CD-Rom drive inside my computer, because i want to copy CDs and DVDs without copying them to my harddrive first. Please help!

No, no software needed. It’s really as simple as just opening up your case, putting in the drive, connect it (new drives are probably SATA, so you’ll need a sata-cable and a free sata-port on your motherboard (kind of looks like an L), don’t forget to connect a powercable (also an “L” for SATA-drives, only longer).

or if it still has a 4-pin Molex-connection, you could use that for power.
if it ain’t SATA, you’ll need one of those big cables and it’ll have a 4-pin molex for power.
Remember to make sure it fits. Do NOT force the cable(s) in there. If it doesn’t fit, turn it around (upside down)

Also, screw the drive in at both sides.
